Spring 2008 Newsletter Article

Region 5 Newsletter Hello to everyone! We are looking forward to seeing everyone in Hawaii at our breakfast meeting.

Once again, our Region has sponsored a Trainee Research Abstract Award Competition. We are delighted to announce the winners and want to thank all those who sent in abstracts. Our judges were very impressed by the quality of all the submissions. And now the drum roll…… Fellows Nadia Dowshen, MD and Maria Finnell, MD, resident Clara Filice, MD and medical student Ashley Alexander were all selected to give oral presentations at our breakfast meeting. We will also have poster presentations from runner-ups: Fellows Megan McGraw, MD , Michelle Macy MD and residents Danielle Spilotro, MD and Heather Helton, MD. We also thank all the reviewers who lent their time during a very busy season!!!!!!

We need a new Co-Chair!!!!!!!!!!!! Jenny Christner’s term is up. If you are interested or have someone you’d like to nominate – please contact one of us!

Finally, if you have any items that you would like to have placed on our Regional Meeting Breakfast Agenda – please contact either one of us ASAP!
